I guess you could say that I've been running since I was in elementary school. I can remember my dad would go for a run and he would let me run with him for his first mile. I also remember running the one mile loop in our neighborhood with my best friend. I moved on to track in junior high, and track and cross country in high school. I always loved running, well as much as one can love that kind of torture. Now as a busy wife and mom, it has been very off and on, but I always come back. This blog is a place for me to keep track of my on and off running life.

My back is still hurting, but if I take some motrin right when I get up I seem to be able to run. I'm not running as much as I would like, but I did reach my goal of 20 miles/week. I am happy with that. If that is all I can do I will be happy with that for now. Going to the doctor next week to see if I can maybe try some physical therapy for my back. I am hoping to strengthen it and hoping that will help. It is time to get this taken care of for good.

I'm trying to get back on track here. But it is so hard. I was having an excellent run this morning. But then about 3.70 in, my back started to hurt. A shooting pain down the back of my hip and into my leg. Argh! My run was feeling so great and I knew that 5 miles would come easy this morning! I struggled to make it to 3.75 because I am weird like that, ha ha. There was no way I was making it to 4 though. So tomorrow is up in the air. I will probably try to run if my back feels ok in the morning. I do have a chiropractor appointment tomorrow so that should help, but more than likely he will tell me not to run on Wednesday so it would be nice to at least get 3 miles in tomorrow morning.

As you can see my weight is up. Yep, well over the 140 mark again. Ugh. It sure does come back quickly! But it is so hard to get it back off again! I can't seem to stay within my weight watcher points either. Not sure how to get going again. Hmmm....maybe if Brandy would actually make me give her the $200 check....hint, hint!

Ran with Brandy. She had to practically drag me out there. I'm glad she did though. Thanks Brandy.

I'm guessing here, I can't seem to remember what days and how much I ran last week!

It's been so long now since I ran this that I don't remember my time. I do remember how hard it was though! I made the mistake of running my first 9 mile run on a route with a tremendous hill. It is a long hill, maybe not too steep, but it's a killer. I hope to get some pictures sometime to show you what I mean. Oh and I guess it probably wouldn't be so bad, but probably just not a good idea to add a mile at the same time as a big hill on my long run. I also thought my route would be right at 9 miles, but it was closer to 10 miles. I thought I would make it 10 and was quite excited. But shortly after the hill I realized quickly that I would be lucky to make it 9. I did make it a little over 9 and then my body literally just quit. No more. I was even walking like a cripple. Oh, but of course I could just call for a ride, right? No. No, I sent my cell phone with Brandy when I dropped her off!! I was so mad, I just wanted to crawl into the ditch and die! I walked about a 1/2 mile and then Josh and the girls came by in the pick up and I got a ride back to my van. Note to self...bring the cell phone the whole way, all the time, no matter what.
