I guess you could say that I've been running since I was in elementary school. I can remember my dad would go for a run and he would let me run with him for his first mile. I also remember running the one mile loop in our neighborhood with my best friend. I moved on to track in junior high, and track and cross country in high school. I always loved running, well as much as one can love that kind of torture. Now as a busy wife and mom, it has been very off and on, but I always come back. This blog is a place for me to keep track of my on and off running life.

I'm not sure what came over me but when we got to my house this morning, we turned around and I decided to keep going.  I'm a little sore already and I hope I don't regret running that far on my second day out.  I think tomorrow we may just walk.  I guess a mile and a half just doesn't give Brandy and I enough talk time!

Here I go...I think.  There is no way I would be running again on my own.  Thankfully Brandy has been begging me to run with her this summer.  She has been doing great with her running and you would think it would motivate me, but I really would rather sleep in.  But I do want to spend some time with her this summer and going running together seems to be the only way we will accomplish that.  So I will continue to set my alarm and get up early to run with her.  It was so beautiful this morning.  I forgot how wonderful summer mornings smell.  Mmmm.  So Brandy picked me up and we drove out 1.5 miles.  That way we could run back to my house together and I could be done and she could just run back to get her three mile run in.  I told her next week to plan on going four so I can do two.  She readily agreed....I'm so proud of her!  Wish me luck, I hope I can keep this up and get back into great running shape!

I'll Be Back...

At least I hope to be back to running this spring! Back at the end of November and beginning of December my back was hurting pretty bad. I decided that along with Chiropractor visits and some Physical Therapy I had better take a break from running and see if it helps. I'm not sure it makes much difference really. But in the meantime I knew I needed some sort of exercise. So we picked up an elliptical machine at Wal Mart. It was sad to put the treadmill to rest, but I have learned to love this elliptical machine. So that is where I am at for the time being. I do hope to continue my running when the weather warms up and with that, get back to this running blog. You know it says under my title that I have an off and on running life. I guess for now I am off, but I will be back!
